I did this alone so there were no extra hands to hold and square the pieces, so it was quickly obvious that it’s better to build the shell upside down so the surface where the top eventually goes is facing down and is squared and supported with the help of the floor or patio base. Once you get the back and side pieces assembled, you can flip it right-side up again.It’s also important to close the doors and get them square and properly interlocked before you screw them, with the metal strips (to connect to the magnet) on the inside. It takes some angling and wiggling to get the bottom panel and shelves installed (start at the bottom).When you’re done, don’t forget to screw the top on. It’s easy to feel like you’re finished when you slide it on since it holds quite well without screws, but without screws you can’t easily lift and move the cabinet around.Happy with the design. It’s simple and practical, and I like the natural wood. “Pleasantly Surprised. I read all the reviews and I was a bit concerned and figured I was either going to have a really good product or be very angry when I got it. I was happily surprised. I did not have any of the splits or chunks out etc that others experienced and I was actually surprised by how heavy the wood was and the shelves are very sturdy. I had warned my husband not to over-tighten the screws due to the splits in reviews. It took him about 20 mins to assemble. Everything lined up and worked as it should. The smell is quite strong but I opened windows on sunporch for 2 days and left cabinet open and it aired out pretty quickly. “Real wood and very nice. This is 100% made from real wood. This is great since it is made for outdoors. That cheap particle board never lasts. And this was comparable in price to some of the others that were particle board or plastic. it was pretty easy to assemble, probably would have been easier with another person to hold things in place.I am using it as a storage in my pool area for towels and it looks great. I am very happy with it! I love that there are magnets to keep the doors closed. It is so nice, I was almost afraid to keep it outdoors.One thing, as the description says, it has potting workstation, so the top has a sheet of aluminum. “A good bench for storage or patio bar. The color is a slight orange tint but we decided not to stain it after seeing how well it looked on patio. This was very easy to assemble with just a Phillips #2 screwdriver. The directions are just pictures but easy to follow. The two parts that have the magnetic catches look very similar in the diagram but I found they were actually stamped #7 and #8. I pre-drilled all the holes prior to installing screws to prevent wood from splitting and added a bead of liquid nails between the two back halves and under the top for a bit more sturdiness. I attached the bottom half of the back first, added the liquid nails and then installed the top part of back. As long as you align the edges it is square. “Overall good cabinet. Overall this is a good cabinet. We used this in our “cat room” to store cat food and other items for our pets. It also has our cats food and water bowls on top. It’s sturdy and just the right size. The cabinet itself is deeper than you think and can hold a lot. I like that the inner shelf can be removed. I also like the ridge around the top so your items stay in place.Assembly required two people. You will need a drill.
